Powertrains
Volvo offers the XC90 in three main variants based on their powertrain:
- T5: Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produces 250 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, T5 models come standard with front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive is available as an option. An eight-speed automatic transmission is common to all powertrains.
- T6: Turbocharged and supercharged, the T6 engine produces 316 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. All T6 models add all-wheel drive, heated front seats, navigation, and leather upholstery to the standard features list.
- T8 eAWD: Adding an electric motor to the Twincharger T6 powerplant, the plug-in hybrid T8 boasts a total system output of 400 horsepower and 472 pound-feet of torque.
