Performance
One of the few changes that comes to the 2023 Volvo XC90 is its rearrangement of engine options. Where the Volvo XC90 used to have a T5 and T6 engine, it now has a B5 and B6 engine. Engines have been slightly tweaked to fit the new name adjustments. The B5 engine offers up 250 horsepower while the new B6 engine offers up 316 horsepower. If you're looking to purchase a hybrid version of the Volvo XC90, there's the XC90 Recharge, which is a plug-in hybrid that boasts 400 horsepower. This plug-in hybrid manages 18 miles of pure electric driving range on a full charge.
Technology
Tech offerings abound with the new Volvo XC90. The Momentum trim comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a 10-speaker audio system, wireless charging, a navigation system, and Bluetooth connectivity. There's also a host of optional tech features that can be added to the Momentum trim, like a head-up display, a 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a 360-degree camera system. The R-Design trim improves things by making the 14-speaker Harman Kardon audio system standard. The R-Design makes a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system optional. The top-level Inscription trim comes with the same set of tech offerings as the R-Design and also makes a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins audio system an optional upgrade.
Interior Features
The Volvo XC90 covers a wide range of luxury needs by providing a long list of different interior comfort and convenience features. The Momentum includes quad-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a hands-free liftgate, driver seat memory settings, and seating for up to seven. Additional comfort features can be added to the Momentum trim via the Climate package. The Climate package offers Trevose, PA drivers heated front seats, heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel, and an air ionizer. The Volvo XC90 also makes leather upholstery optional along with integrated booster cushions for rear seats. The R-Design only increased comfort offerings, adding in illuminated door sills, ambient interior lighting, leather upholstery, and front sport seats with seat cushions extensions and heating. The top of the line Inscription trim takes things up a notch by adding ambient interior lighting, improved leather quality, and passenger seat memory settings. There's also an optional Lounge package that adds massaging from seats and faux suede headliner.
